I would suggest Progressive, I just switched to them from Esurance and my premium is about half of what it was with Esurance, and the coverage is the same, even a little better in some categories. The fact you are a new driver will not hurt you, if anything, it will HELP you, since you will not have any violations that will up the price of your insurance. In addition to this, you are 26, most isurance dropas at age 25, so you should find a decend price, I would suggest checking out Progressive. But whatever you do, shop around a bit. Call an independent agent, they are your best resource. There are still some companies out there that do not pull credit. It will be expensive since you are a new driver. Suggestion – buy a good older car with no loan so that you can get liability only. That will save you a ton of money. Just remember though, if you have an accident that is your fault or the vehicle gets stolen, there will be no coverage for the car. Also WORK on getting your credit score up. That will be the best thing you can do for yourself. MOST things will be cheaper (insurance, loan rates, credit card rates, etc) and you will save SO MUCH MONEY. Good luck to you.

Depends on what car you have. If you can afford the risk, just get liability on your car (meaning the other car you hit has coverage for their damages while yours wont) or get full coverage (which for the summary you gave me would be really high) BUT raise your deductable to the higest possible. For example, if you change it to a 1000 deductable you premium will go down significantly compared to a 250 ded.

First and foremost what country do you live in? Answers.com is combined with several different countries in this English spoken forum. USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Western Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Etc.

The answer to your question varies “BIG TIME” depending upon what country and what part of that country you live in.

Update: In that case try Eastwood Insurance. Or try Safeco. Just keep shopping around. But by all means avoid State Farm like the plague. It’s the corporation that bastardized all the people who lost their homes from Katrina and Rita. Not paying up when it’s clear that they need to pay the insurance money to the homeowners. All homeowners need to take it to court which will take several years.

Don’t support a terrible company like State Farm. Because if they can cheat thousands of people out of having a house to live in. Why should they treat you any better?

Esurance works. Look at the minimum coverage insurance companies. If you don’t wreak, you’ll be happy.
