Question by : I think government run health care is better than some rich guy’s run health care.?

Which would you rather have taking care of your health? Your government or some guy that decided he wants to sell health insurance?

With government-run health care, Americans can buy health care from the reliable, never cheating government. Since it IS the government, the people taking care of the country, why wouldn’t they sell insurance to take care of its own people?

Progressive auto insurance customizes car insurance depending on your budget. The government can do the same thing. It’d be easy. You just show them your annual budget and they’ll customize a health care plan system just for you.

You’ve seen the commercials where it says the government will crush insurance businesses, which would probably be true, but in the long run, we’d have a good health plan from uncle sam, and if any health insurance company that thinks they have the balls to sell better health insurance, then let them. We’d have government, and probably 2 other non government health insurance competing for your insurance. No matter which one you decide you like better, they’d all be good. Yes it’ll crush small insurance but that would be for the better. No one want’s Rick’s Quick Health Insurance.

In conclusion, we’d have the choices of government health care or a couple other guy’s that think they can do better’s health insurance.

I go with my government.
If america is so terrible at handling something simple like health insurance then maybe the terrorists are right.
I believe if the government tried they can make an efficient health care system. All the other government programs are giving you free money which is obviously going to take many months to make sure you deserve it.

Selling health insurance will not take forever because it is not a tangible item and everything can be done with computers. If progressive can car insurance all over america, than the government can sell health insurance just as easily. Just open up a branch in the government called health care, set up websites and storefronts, and hire smart people instead of dumb asses.

Best answer:

Answer by NeoLibs are Pathogens
You’re so wrong on nearly every point, it’s probably useless to inform you of the truth. Hope you never get cancer under your precious socialized care, because your treatment will be delayed and deferred, as it is in every other country that has gov’t care.

Question by Question…..: CALIFORNIA: Bodily injury insurance claim, how does this whole thing work???

I was in an auto accident about 4 months ago, the other vehicle(commercial truck) rear ended a car in back of me, going at about 40-50MPH, that vehicle then rammed into the car in front of them & that vehicle rammed into my car, thus creating a sort of domino effect (me & the other 2 cars that were hit were completely stopped at the time of impact). Luckily I did not hit any one (the commercial truck was found to be 100% at fault), however I was about 7 months pregnant at the time of the accident, I was rushed immediately to the hospital by the ambulance & ended up having to stay there for almost 2 days the impact sent me into pre-term labor! I was released from the hospital still pregnant, however I had a lot of pain in my back, a bruised rib & my legs hurt a lot after the accident (lifting them, exercising). Luckily I was able to go full term with my pregnancy. I’ve had my child since then & I now have upper back pain a lot & neck pain & my labor was a lot WORSE then my First Born. What are my options I have an attorney BUT he doesn’t seem to eager if you know what I mean, he is not telling me very much. I am also kind of traumatized because I have panic attacks when ever a vehicle gets too close behind me. I may be damaged for life physically & mentally because of this accident I want to be fairly compensated what options do I have? I have never been in an accident where I had a bodily injury claim, the last thing I want is to settle for too little.

Best answer:

Answer by mbrcatz17
Your attorney should tell you what your options are. But generally, you’re not going to get anything for stress, mental health, panic attcks, etc.

Any insurance that truck has, IF he has insurance, well, that coverage amount would get divided out among everyone in all the cars. It’s possible, if you’re talking about 10 people hurt, and 0,000 of coverage, that the most anyone would get, is ,000.

Regardless of medical bills.

You sue the driver who caused the accident, that’s what your option is. If YOU had no insurance, you can’t collect from him, and you can’t win. If you DID have insurance, you need to file a claim under your uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage.

You’re problem isn’t going to be settling for too little. It’s going to be, getting no cash. If you go to court and get an award for ,000, your lawyer will take the first third of it. The guy’s insurance will pay you your share of the claim – ,000. Your lawyer will get that, and you’ll be left holding the bag, with a ,000 judgement balance on this guy, and no way to actually collect it.

I see your lawyer making out on this deal, not you. Ask your lawyer, if he knows how much insurance this guy had, and how many other people were injured. Then do the math.

Question by Eric S: Why do USA Conservatives buy from corporations?

Most the stuff big corporations give you are stuff without real care and heart put in and no creativity.

The most creative and genuine stuff in the world are made independently by kids. This includes neighborhood lemonade, handmade greeting cards in crayon, underground garage band stuff, soap operas that are completely original, things that really make you think outside the box, like YouTube videos where people play frisbee in backwards motion, and college radio stations that are underground surpass the creativity of all corporate stuff.

And the social sites of the youth like myspace And Facebook offer more value through all the shared photos and independent blogs of the youth than any Conservative corporation creates on an NBC commercial where they pay billions of freakin dollars to repeat over and over again that you can save money on your auto insurance by switching to GEICO.

It is time for these Conservative Republicans to stop trusting corporate media and listen to the voices of your kids, the youth, and America’s Liberals.

Best answer:

Answer by mattle
I buy plenty of stuff made by kids. My computer, my phone, my iPod….

Question by JaC6: Any Girlfriends fans out there???

Anyone else notice all the plugs they are putting in the show. For example the episode i’m watching now has Jabari trying to learn how to drive. Maia mentions that she and Darnell will add him to their auto insurance (Allstate) and they will send him to driving school, but first he has to sign an Allstate teen and parent contract (whatever it’s called).

Is this shameless plug really necessary? Why is the media constantly bombarding us with product plugs. They even do it on PBS now and they’re suppose to be commercial free.

What are your thoughts? Am I the only one who’s bothered by this?
The singer’s name is Michelle Chrissette (not sure if I spelled her name right). I liked her music too. I guess that would count as a plug too. But at least plugging her music went along with the episode. I think the allstate thing just went a little too far. Seeing a bag of Doritos or a can of Pepsi is one thing…but purposely writing a scenario around the product and having the characters continuously mention it by name is a bit excessive.

Best answer:

Answer by Patti Wray
People tend to leave the tv when commercials come on their products are not selling so they follow us into our programs. They feel if we know our favorite characters use it then maybe we will. If television wasn’t built around dollars/cents I don’t think we would have tv,Ch 13 sometimes has commercials.

Question by annika emma: Working with an out of state license?

I am in another state(NC) helping to take care of my mother for about 3-4 months while she recovers from a health issue. I still maintain my residence as well as insurance and DL in my home state(MD) and go back and forth every few weeks. While in NC I’ve been offered a part-time driving position(which needs to add me to their insurance coverage) I’d like to take the job to earn some extra $$. My question is: Would I need to change over my MD DL to NC? How would that effect my auto insurance in MD? Can they insure me on their NC coverage with a license from another state?Don’t want to take the job if it’s going to be a big hassle. I think they have State Farm commercial coverage if that helps…this is not a CDL position.
Thanks for reading!
This job is a 1099, an independent contractor job. I would be technically self employed. If I were to take a sub-contracted job out of the state I reside in(i.e. construction) I would not be required to claim residency there to perform the short term job. The only reason residence is relevant is because of the insurance issue. Can anyone (hopefully an agent) advise? Thanks!
Just in case this may help someone else….I did not have to change my DL, I was able to be added as a temporary resident through State Farm, awesome agent I delt with btw….Thanks for the help!

Best answer:

Answer by J
Keep your own insurance and license intact, as is—–let the employer worry about the rest of the matter, as long as your working for him, that’s his problem

Question by Wolfy: If you live in Florida, is your home insured by MetLife?

If you, like myself, have your home insured by MetLife Property Insurance Company, and you live in Florida or any other Gulf state, then you either have or soon will receive a cancellation notice. MetLife, the friendly folks with the Snoopy dog commercial on TV, has decided that it doesn’t want to take property risk anymore. Imagine that, an insurance company that is willing to abandon hundreds of thousands of policy-holders because another hurricane might strike Florida again.

After 24 years with MetLife, and only two previous small hurricane-related claims, I felt blind-sided and betrayed by them. While State Farm, Allstate, and other firms have also stopped writing policies, at least they didn’t flee Florida with their tails between their legs like some whipped dog! Does MetLife even care that no A-rated firms are writing policies anymore, thus condemning their loyal customers to be thrown into the expensive, state-run Citizens Property Insurance Company?

At least those companies, unlike MetLife, notified the news media in advance to prepare the public for this shock. MetLife is going to lose my auto insurance also, and if I were you folks, I would have nothing to do with these back-stabbers.

Question by heaspiece: What test should take first to get my CPCU designation?

I recently started a new job as a commercial P&C underwriter. My company requires that I work toward a CPCU designation and is paying for everything. I know that there are 8 exams; 5 foundation and 3 under the commercial concentration.

I am new to the insurance industry and I want to know which exam I should start with. I don’t think it’s required to take them in order. I want to take the ones that will help me learn my job first. I will be writing Work Comp, General Liability, Property, and Commercial Auto. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer by mbrcatz17
I”m working on mine. Unfortunately, I started before they made it 8 courses, so I’ve gone down both paths, and have three left to do. Sigh.

Anyway. I’d STRONGLY recommend you start with 552, then 551, then 553. Those first two will be the ones to help you most, with your job performance.

Question by beanerschnitzel: Worst/Best commercials of 2010?

Please, tell me, what are your least/most favorite commercials of 2010?

This year was definitely not a strong point for advertisers, as they have been increasingly demanded to make longer commercials to fill airtime…anyways here are mine.

1. Schick Quatro “Slo-Mo with people getting hit with random objects, somehow turning them into water?” It’s not so much the content, but how much I see this commercial.

2. Kia Hamsters….no comment.

3. The Geico commercials, ESPECIALLY the ones with Mike McGlone asking hypotheticals to confirm that Geico IS the best auto insurance company, miserable fail.

4. The Progressive commericials, flo, sorta pretty, but straight up obnoxious. I hate that old dude that comes in saying he don’t want no flibertly flabber…who talks like that?

5. The Taco Bell 5 $ box meal commercials.

6. Any commercial talking about mesothelioma or AA-RP health plans, I see these WAY too much, these deserve to have their own channel so no one can watch them if they choose.

7. Most verizon commercials, generally have a very stupid message claiming, you too can RULE THE AIR at a low price…my ass!

8. The all-state commercials, not the ones with dennis haybert, but the ones with that guy who claims to be either a christmas tree or a teenager girl…creepy?

9. Budlight commercials, any light beer commercial for that matter. It seems like they associate drinking light beer with a bunch of idiots who need that beer like taste (trust me, light beer SUCKS!) yet still need to remain sober, as they are dumb enough already. I hate that budlight commercial where they guy’s asking about his car, and the mechanic says its leaking deisel fuel….give me a break, idk why its just not funny yet kinda angers me.

10. I’m so glad, this is by far the worst, I don’t see it anymore. The Quizno commercials with the singing kittens? It’s not cute, and it freaks me out to be honest.

If you read through all this, you are a trooper haha. No best commercials for me, I do think there are very few creative and funny ads nowadays, kinda sad
