I will be convicted of speeding when i pay the bill….however, my Auto Insurance renewel is coming up….What is the best method to possibly keep my insurance premiums from going up…is it best to:

A) Pay the speeding ticket and get the conviction on my record BEFORE signing up with a DIFFERENT (New) auto Insurance Company?

OR

B) Joing a DIFFERENT (New) auto Insurance company and then pay the speeding ticket (which will show up then as a conviction on my record)?

It really doesn’t matter, because the insurance company will ask you about it on the application, and they will also run your driving record. If you don’t tell them, you have committed fraud on your application which gives them a way to drop you.

So, either way they will know and charge accordingly.

What are the states that have the best insurance premiums for auto and homeowner’s premiums for someone who is a LOW risk and have a very good history? Honest answers plz.

States have nothing to do with it.
You have to compare insurance companies. Some companies will offer a HUGE discount if you get all your insurance through them.
I use American Family Insurance, and have great experiences with them. However, they are NOT available in all states–google them to find out if your state has it.

I tell ya what. I finally tried Geico and Progressive after years of seeing the commercials and Progressive was quite abit cheaper than several other companies. Its free to get a quote on line, you should check it out.

I call every year to get quotes from about 10 different companies.
Geico has always been the cheapest.

Any company that gives you good service, reliable claims and affordable rates is good to go with. Take multiple quotes online from recognized companies like The Hartford, Geico, Progressive and AAA. See which one gives you max coverage for lowest rate and check claims history. Then take a call.

I want to find a reliable company. I’ve looked into Geico and Allstate… just don’t know how they handle claims and things. Any input?

For us progressive was the best because they have different levels of coverage. We have a newr suv that needs full coverage and then an older car with just liability on one policy and for this kind of coverage they had the best rate. Fortunately neither of us have been in an accident so I could not tell you about their claims process, but I have never heard anything negative.

The best place to start is to get up off of your behind and walk away from the computer.

Walk over to the telephone.

Near the telephone, most people keep a large book

Many times this book will have colored pages, usually yellow

Open the book to the colored pages section and look for the heading Insurance

Here you will find the telephone numbers to people in your area who actually sell insurance. Imagine that.

Pick up the telephone and dial one of these numbers.

A friendly person will answer. This person will be either an insurance agent or a person that works for them. Ask this person your question. This person may ask you a few questions to get some added details. Have the VIN number of the vehicle getting covered by this policy handy if possible. If you do not own the vehicle yet and do not have the VIN then the year, make, and exact model will work.

In no time, you will have a quote on the price. HINT: A quote will be far more accurate than any wild guess that you might get here.

Write down some of the details on a piece of paper. Phone number, name of the person you spoke with, price, deductibles, coverage,etc.

Next, repeat the process using one of the other telephone numbers you found in the telephone book in the colored pages section under the heading insurance.

After you have spoken to at least a few insurance agents, you can start to compare prices, coverage, and deductibles. Then pick the insurance agent that has the best deal for you, call them back, and then strike a deal.

One last piece of advice. You are far better off going through a local insurance agent where you know them and they know you. Let’s say a few months after you get your insurance you get broadsided by an uninsured motorist. Who would you rather be working with? A local person that you know and knows you. Or hear “Press 1 for English”, pause “Your call is important to us. Please wait for the next available agent…” a very very long wait, then finally get someone from a far away call center that barely speaks English. Sometimes the cheapest insurance is not the best insurance. Think about it for a bit before you make your final decision.

A LAPSES IN YOUR INSURANCE WILL IN MOST CASES RAISE YOUR RATES, YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE A LAPSES.
