Question by Gilgia: Will AAA of southern Ca raise my insurance rates for a no-fault accident?

I have AAA of southern california auto insurance. While my car was parked in a parking lot, a vehicle hit and damaged the front end of my car and then left (I was not present at the time of the accident). Will it raise my insurance rates to report this accident and then have the damages repaired?

Best answer:

Answer by Kenneth S
In most cases no…if this is your first or only claim. It also depends on the amount of damage and how much it costs to repair it. Either way I’d have them fix it…thats what you pay insurance for. Think of how much you have spent on insurance since you have been driving…they probably owe you one fix anyway.

Question by hex_alot: Will a speeding ticket affect my insurance rates?

This is my first speeding ticket and the cop claims I sped 15 mi over the 25 mph limit. If I plead guilty and pay the fine and attend traffic school, will this still be reported to my auto insurance company?

Best answer:

Answer by Simon
No one will ever know that you got a speeding ticket if you take traffic school. Also, you should research your rights before you plead guilty. I would try to contest the ticket first, and if that fails, bargain with the judge for a reduction in fines and traffic school for pleading guilty.

Question by brettnomensa: CA DUI expungement affect insurance rates?

I received a DUI back in July of 2001, and it has been affecting my insurance rate ever since. Under the new DUI laws the DUI I received (a misdemeanor) will be on my record until 2011. I qualify for expungement of this record. My question is if I do expunge my DUI will my auto insurance company be able to see my dmv record and will my insurance company be allowed to charge me the same rate?

Best answer:

Answer by Need2know
An expunged DUI, means that its gone off your record. No one can use it against you.
You have to get the expungment yourself, they wont take it off unless you tell them to.
It then bocomes sealed to the public, and no one will ever know it happened. It can also never be used in court against you.

Question by Pache: Who has the lowest rates in Texas for renter’s, home, and auto insurance.?

Been with State Farm for over 20 years and it seems they go up about every six months for no reason. Never filed a claim with them.

Best answer:

Answer by mbrcatz
Yep, I’m in Houston, and my personal insurance is with State Farm, too.

When I shop around, Liberty Mutual is always cheapest. BUT, they don’t give me the same coverage from, which means they don’t cover all the things the State Farm policy covers.

Plus, if you check for complaints at the TX insurance department website, you’ll see that Liberty Mutual, by far, has the most “valid” complaints filed against them.

I’m sticking with State Farm.

Question by Total Loser: Auto-insurance claims and rates?

First of all, I have GEICO.

Some time ago, I had bumped a woman in the back of her car while in a parking lot taking my sister to some stores. I had parked, properly then, and asked if she was okay, and when she said she was, I told her I was sorry, and we both went to look at the back of her car. Her car had some a scuff mark (about the size of kitten) alone the right back bumper. She had then went on to say that “Hopefully this isn’t too bad” and that “I’ll need to have my husband look at it” because she did not know how to look at it. Reluctantly, and considering this was my first accident, I had given her all the information she had asked for, and called later to give her my insurance information once I had gotten her name and number. At that point, through phone, she said she’d send me a text or call back about the accident, and I said okay. However, she never had and I stupidly assumed this meant everything was okay.

Later, the insurance company calls about increasing rates because of the accident, considering the woman sued for about ,000 (I’m not sure for exactly what, but possibly medical?).

I know that since the cops hadn’t been called, and I showed fault to the accident that there isn’t many ways I can fight it. But is there anyway I can? Otherwise, how would it be wise to continue to approach the situation from here?

And a lasting question, roughly how much would my rates be increasing now as a new driver who already had an accident?

Thanks in advance.

Best answer:

Answer by say it again
yes, this is one of those things, that causes a problem later, I suggest, that you sit down, write a detailed account of what you remember in terms off severity of the impact to you , and if there was damage to your car, and what you remember about the damage to the other car. (as you said, if it was a scuff mark, and you were not slammed off the steering wheel, what exactly was damaged on the other car, and was the impact that severe as you remember?
keep in mind, that people try to defraud the insurance company everyday, and a minor fender scrap, and 8 grand in damages sounds excessive to me? write a short but to the point letter to your insurance, and ask them to investigate, they may not have, and if they do investigate, and you are right, the other party can get stuck on defrauding the insurance company hook. (I wouldnt want to be there) If you feel they need to investigate, as I said, make your voice heard. dont make baseless accusations ok? you cannot say how hard their car was jarred, only what happened to you, (and what did they say about it right after? best of luck, stand up for what you believe,ok?
and do me a favor, please dont refer to yourself as total loser, this is not a good plan, how about a positive focus instead you know like totally intelligent, too smart for my own good! human with a plan, follow my lead. just get rid of total loser thanks, you deserve better than that.

Question by J-mi-: My truck was keyed, will my auto insurance rate go up?

My black 2008 Chevy Silverado was keyed recently (passenger side: all the way from the bed to the front. front hood: across the front of the hood above the grill), I would like to repair the damage with my auto insurance. Will my rates go up because I am making a claim for the damage?
I do not know who may have committed the crime.
The scratches are really deep, it’s at least 00 in damages, and yes my deductible is 0.
The whole truck may have to be repainted, I think the total I’m looking at is at least 00

Best answer:

Answer by ec123456789able
it will go up slightly if you claim because it shows that you are willing to claim off the insurance for something so small. if i were you i would just pay for the repair yourself. make sure you park somewhere with CCTV so you can catch the person in the act if it ever happens again.

Question by truth is…: What liability limits should I apply to my auto insurance?

My husband and I are researching new insurance rates. We have looked into Geico and are almost ready to buy the policy. We currently have 25/50,000 liability limits, but since we own our house and can afford a little more, we’re looking into increasing our liability to 100/300,000. Is that OK? Or, should we increase the limits to 250/500,000? It seems unnecessary to increase it THAT high.

Answer by la428282
As an adjuster its amazing how many people have EXTREMELY low limits. (How on earth do people think they are safe from being sued with only 10k in property damage! cars cost like 20k nowadays!)

But yes, i think you are more then fine at 100/300. It is very unlikely that anyone would try to sue you for anything more then that regardless of their injury.
