Question by kcsgrrl2205: Auto Insurance policy question….please?
Ok, Reviewing my auto insurance information packet, and I noticed a portion called Rating Information, and in that section it has 4 items. Rating Territory, Driver class, Sub-class, and vehicle symbol. After each item there are numbers and letters. What are these “ratings” and what do they mean??
I normally would call, but my phone is on the fritz right now

Ask your insurance company. Most have 24 hour hotlines you can call.

When I go looking for replacement car insurance is one of the simplest ways to save your money. You can get a easy estimate online they always give you multiple quotes.
I have used http://www.LowRateToday.com

the only one who is going to know this, is who ever wrote the policy as each insurance company does things differently, one thing they all do is rate the accident rate where you live (usually by zip code, type of vehicle say 3/4 ton truck versus v w so call the insurance agent, and feel free to ask him a million questions, because for as much money as we are all getting screwed out of, they should be happy to explain their greed and how they do it best of luck

You can compare how the insurance quotes would change, for example here – autoinsurance.noneto.com

Except for the “Symbol” section, which is pretty standard by price class, every company uses different systems. My company does give a short explanation of its rating symbols on the back of the first page; if yours doesn’t, call your agent and ask.
