Q&A: What’s a good website for comparing auto insurance rates in Massachusetts?
Question by Carolanne M: What’s a good website for comparing auto insurance rates in Massachusetts?
I don’t feel like paying ,000 for insurance on a car that’s worth barely that, but I don’t know where to find a better deal. Any good resources for comparing rates? I’m in Massachusetts.

00 sounds a bit high if the car is only worth that much. The best thing you can do is to compare quotes online for 3-5 different insurance companies. The more quotes you get, the more of a chance you will have to get the lowest rate possible. I am not sure which company offered you that rate, but don’t settle for anything you think is too high. Keep looking until you find something that you feel comfortable with. There are too many different companies out there to go with a company that is going to overcharge you.
The site below is really helpful because it allows you to compare quotes for all of the insurance companies in your area for free so you can find the cheapest rate possible.
Good Luck!

the best way to compare and get the best you can is to call a local independent agent in your area. stay away from quoting yourself online unless you are an agent or REALLY understand insurance. most sites will come back with a different premium once you actually take out the policy and its usually not to your advantage. having an actual person locally is ALWAYS a good idea.

A good idea is to type your state or community along with terms like insurance directory or insurance agency or search the local chamber of commerce sites. This can give you access to many agencies, including some local and perhaps more personable and available than just going to the large agencies like Gieco, Allstate etc…
